The short version: everything about you — your punches, your body, your heart rate, your footage, your photos — stays on your iPhone. Punch-Up has no account, no server and no analytics. The one thing that talks to the internet is the advertising, and it is never given anything about you beyond what it needs to show an ad.
What stays on your phone
- Microphone. Listened to live during a fight to hear punches on the bag. The sound is analysed as it arrives and is never recorded or sent anywhere.
- Camera. Your fights are filmed so you can make a highlight reel, and your body pose is read to count exercises. Footage is stored only in the app. The raw footage of your last five fights is kept, and each is deleted once its reel is made. A reel goes to your Photos library, or to another app, only when you tap Save or Share.
- Heart rate. Read from Apple Health during a fight, if you allow it, so punches land harder in your zone. Punch-Up only reads heart rate; it writes nothing to Health. Health data is never shared with anyone and is never used for advertising.
- Head movement. Read from your AirPods during a fight so you can slip punches.
- Photos. If you bring someone into the game from a photo, the photo is cut out and stored in the app, on your phone. It is never uploaded, and it never appears in highlight reels.
- Your fight history. Fight cards, progress and settings, stored in the app.
Advertising
If you don't have Punch-Up Pro, the app shows ads between fights using Google AdMob (the Google Mobile Ads SDK). Never during a fight. To serve and measure ads, Google may collect your device's advertising identifier (only if you allow tracking when asked), IP address and the approximate location it implies, device and operating system information, and how you interact with ads. In the UK, EEA and Switzerland you are asked for consent first, and you can change your choice at any time in Punch-Up's settings.
How Google uses this: policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites. Google's privacy policy: policies.google.com/privacy.
Punch-Up Pro removes all ads, and with them, the advertising SDK's data collection.
Purchases
Punch-Up Pro is sold through the App Store. Apple handles the payment; Punch-Up never sees your payment details.
Children
Punch-Up is not directed at children under 13.
Your choices
Every permission can be turned off in the iPhone's Settings. Deleting the app deletes everything it stored. Ad consent can be changed in Punch-Up's settings.
